Are most homeschooling families radical nut-jobs?

No offense if you're a normal homeschooling family, but I've never encountered any normal ones. They're either Christian fundamentalists who want to teach their children creationism and that a woman's place is in the home, or they are radical leftist postmodernists who don't teach their children much of anything (aka "unschooling").
